JOB SUMMARY:  To provide case management, individualized vocational support and follow along services to individuals taking part in the services and training available through our Job Connection Centers.

This is not a supervisory role.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Punctual and dependable attendance.
  • Complete intake/initial assessments and related procedures to determine appropriate service offerings prior to participant participation. Responsible for all data collection needed to determine individual and community impact.
  • Create individualized vocational plan with the participant, to outline the needs and services required for the participant to facilitate a successful outcome. All efforts are made to assist participants to establish a career pathway providing wages/benefits that are self-sustaining.
  • Guide participant to modify attitudes and patterns of behavior by increasing understanding of self, personal problems, and the individual’s personal responsibility in resolving those problems.
  • Provide advocacy and referrals in needed services and coordinates the provision of these services.
  • Collaborate in the development, maintenance and active utilization of the referral network of community resources.
  • Participate in staff, inter-agency or other meetings as needed.
  • Document participant’s performance towards completion of their individual vocational plan and update as needed.
  • Maintain regular contacts with participants on their caseload for the purpose of providing motivation, encouragement and additional guidance to ensure successful outcomes. Conducts feedback surveys to determine quantity and quality of services provided.
  • Provide post placement follow up services to increase long-term success of participant
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance at all times.
  • Markets services  to businesses and community agencies.  
  • Attend a minimum of 20 hours DRS trainings annually.
  • Review and be familiar with Goodwill of Central Oklahoma safety policies, programs and procedures and adhere to all safety rules, regulations and safety codes. Attend safety training and meetings and report any unsafe work conditions, accidents or injuries immediately.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform other duties and projects as required by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, required and 4 years of experience in a vocational/employment profession or related field. A combination of education and experience may be substituted for education. 
  • 2 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities or disadvantages, preferred. 
  • Experience in job development for individuals with multiple barriers to employment, preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read and write the English language.
  • Reliable transportation and communication, required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. 
  • Develop professional relationships with participants that instill motivation.
  • Familiar with the local community support and training services. 
  • Effective vocational counseling skills. 
  • Provide support services by working with disabled/disadvantaged persons and assisting in the rehabilitation process of Goodwill Industries of Central Oklahoma.
  • Ability to complete and maintain:
      • Foundations Training (DDS)
      • Employment Consultant Training (DRS)
      • CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook as well as standard computer systems, relevant software in order to perform the requirements of the position.

  • This position requires light physical work and requires: Sitting for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity.
  • The ability to lift 35 pounds, or more with assistance.
  • Employee is required to operate a computer.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Works in a climate controlled, office environment most of the time.
  • Low noise level
  • Works 40 hours per week or more when required.
