Van Driver (Outlet Store - S Western & Reno)

JOB SUMMARY: Load, unload and transport donated goods in a safe and efficient manner. 

Starting Pay: $ 15.00/ hour 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Punctual and dependable attendance.
  • Operates the vehicle safely to and from specified locations according to schedule.
  • Conducts routine inspections prior to departure to ensure the vehicle is in good condition.
  • Loads and unloads products, salvage, and trash to the warehouse or landfill ensuring items are properly stored and secured.
  • Communicate with supervisors, as needed to coordinate the pickup of routes, work activities, review status of work, exchange information, and notify about delays or issues during transport.
  • Maintain daily log of activities.
  • Assist in production or warehousing when required.
  • Ensure quality and timeliness of work.
  • Maintain a positive attitude with team/department.
  • Maintain good public relations while servicing the area. 
  • Bale textiles and safely operate the baler and tipper machine as needed.
  • Reviews and be familiar with company’s safety policies, programs and procedures. Adheres to all safety rules, regulations and safety codes. Attends safety training and meetings and report any unsafe work conditions, accidents or injuries immediately.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform other duties as assigned/needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED, preferred.
  • Previous driving experience, preferred.
  • Must be 21 years old.
  • Valid Class D Oklahoma driver’s license is required.
  • Valid Medical Certification card, required.
  • Must pass MVR check and maintain a good driving record.
  • Ability to speak, read and write the English language.
  • Reliable transportation and communication, required.

  • This work is physical and requires the following activities: Walking, standing, twisting, bending, grabbing, reaching and driving for long periods of time, occasional squatting, kneeling, stooping, good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, smelling and visual acuity.
  • The ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance. Will also pull utility carts on wheels on and off the van.
  • Must be able to use a two-wheeler and pallet jack to assist in loading/unloading. 
  • This is considered a safety sensitive position. No level of impairment from drugs, alcohol or prescription medications will be acceptable while performing the essential functions of this job.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Works in a warehouse environment, and outdoors to unload donation bins in various weather conditions. Will be exposed to airborne particles such as dust, mold, dirt, and pollen as well as extreme heat and cold and severe weather conditions.
  • Moderate noise level.
  • Works 40 hours per week. Must be available to work during operating hours as needed for business operations. Work schedule may include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and blackout periods which may vary from week to week and occasional overtime when approved by manager. 
  • It can be stressful during busy driving times, inclement weather and peak seasons.
